About

You are probably asking why is this website offering all of these downloads for free?

This collection (with so much more to come) has been accumulated and grown over many many years and firstly benefited from being part of a small group where RoIO and Bootleg recordings were freely shared.

In more recent times the collection has grown thanks to the members at the now permanently closed 'Queenzone' (1995 - 2020), which was thankfully resurrected as the 'The Queen Discussion Forum' (2020 - 2025), which is now also unfortunately permanently closed. BUT, the good news is that a new replacement forum has now entered its testing phase and will be launched soon. As soon as this happens, we will release full details here on QueenBoots

This all sounds great, but why share? Well, why not! Having shared and collected for so long it was quite a shock as to how large the collection had become, and a sense of wanting to give back to the Queen community grew. There will of course be elitism in any circles, and this extends to the Queen collecting fraternity where certain individuals and groups will jealously guard unique recordings and refuse to share them. This is understandable and there is no malice towards them, but it is not the case here; everything on QueenBoots is open to you for free.

Remember, if you share with QueenBoots, you share with the world!

But, to share properly there must be order, so a two-year campaign was set in motion and after about two thousand hours of work, the currently offered material was organised.

Once completed, an entire website and multiple databases had to be written to present the collection in a manner in which it could be easily searched; after all, you don't want to waste your time downloading something you may already have. So, after another fifteen months of work and over a thousand hours of development, QueenBoots was finally born.

And here we are today, with probably another thousand hours of development since site launch and many many more hundreds of hours to go in developing the website and adding downloads. This has resulted in an imperfect site with not so perfect databases. BUT, at least it is a repository for everyone to enjoy what has to be one of the greatest live bands ever to have toured this small blue planet floating in space that we all call home.

So, what does the future hold? Well, version 2 of the website is already in mind, but the amount of work involved will require a small and dedicated team. So, if people in the Queen community are so inclined, this may just become a reality in the future. Time will tell...
